Just wanted to make a quick post letting everyone know we are hard at work porting DeskTube over to the new style. I must say I’m very impressed. DeskTube’s team consists of two people, Andrew Carranza (graphic designer) who recently came aboard, and me (Damon Edwards – developer/creator). We spent 15 straight hours this past weekend with the initial port to the new style. It was a long, hard, but fun (I use that lightly) process. All the main UI elements have been converted, and now we’re moving on to the smaller UI elements.
This new style is not only going to outperform the last, but is much more intuitive and user friendly. When we feel its buttoned up enough to reveal, I’ll either post a beta or just release some teaser screenshots. Once the final (I use that loosely since DeskTube will always be updated) product has been released, I’ll begin porting over DeskTube View, and DeskTube Launch.
Dont forget these upcoming features:
- Twitter Support
- Ribbit Support
- Send To Friend
- Upload to YouTube
- Download Video in MOV format (including device selection)
- User Playlists
- User Subscriptions
- Channel searching
- Record video right from DeskTube, edit, then upload direct to YouTube
So, that’s where we are, and where we are heading, for now.
